I Love to Tell the Story: It's All About the HYMNS
Hymns have always spoken to my spirit in times of joy, need, comfort, and crisis.
Hymns are timeless. They are the fabric that has accompanied my entire life. In many ways, the soundtrack of the journey of my soul. They always bring comfort and perspective.
Hymns animate scripture; they help us pray and be in conversation with God in the present. They also connect us with generations past, as we sing the words that have been sung by so many believers in years gone by. It is about repeating those words and singing those melodies that create a mantra of prayer, yearning, and blessing for our present age and circumstance.
In our current absence one from another, let us join together in singing the hymns our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents taught us. My prayer is that these weekly offerings bring solace and steadfastness to us all.
